The final game of Cricket for the season

Michael Reggett —

Last Saturday was our final game for the 2021/22 season.  Our overall results were disappointing although some of our players achieved awesome results.

Oram Gutsell scored over 500 runs; Tyler McCleery took 24 wickets; Luke Murray took 18 wickets at an average of 16.56, and Alex Burleigh took 15 wickets at an average of 17.47; with some outstanding performances put in during the season.

Max Davidson took 2 five-wicket bags and Henry King 1 five-wicket bag.  Tyler had an outstanding performance against Shirley Boys' High School when he took 6 wickets for 11 runs off 9 overs with 5 of them being maidens.

Saturday was special with our Captain, Max Davidson returning from isolation; his younger brother Jonty playing his first game; and Scott Greenfield playing his first game for the 1st XI against his older brother Adam, who is a regular for the North East Valley team.

With the end of the season, I would like to thank our Coach Bradley Scott, Dave Conrad our staff member in charge of Cricket, and Simon Cushen, for all they do to support our 1st XI and all Cricket at our school - a special thanks to Dave for ensuring the boys were able to play our three traditional inter-school competitions.

Thank you very much to all the parents who have supported their sons and our teams throughout the season.
