Old Boy shares his knowledge

Jeremy White —

The Year 12 and Year 13 Scholarship candidates were fortunate to take part in a workshop on "Critical elements of writing" this week held by Professor Tony Ballanytne.

Professor Ballantyne provided a wealth of advice on how to write in an impactful and succinct manner. Professor Ballantyne is an Old Boy of King’s High School and of Cambridge University, and is a Professor of History at Otago. Perhaps his most defining experience, however, was that he was current Head of Geography Mr. Simon Cushen's 'buddy' on Mr. Cushen's first day at King's as a student.

Jacob Collie (current member of the 1st XI Cricket Team and Scholarship Geography winner as a Year 12 in 2019) presented Professor Ballantyne with a 1st XI baggy with his playing number stitched in, as a gesture of thanks.
