King's Men at Opens Touch Nationals

Past and Present players represented their province at Opens Nationals in Rotorua over the weekend. There was a mixture of boys that have gone through King's. All of the men named below represented their province with pride achieving outstanding results for Otago, including Trey McClean who refereed at the competition.

The U21 men's went down to Waikato in the final but featured current students M.Schooner & T.Hand. They were joined by H.Mitchell-Collie, T.Whakaua-Evans, J.Selcraig, T.Hume, Vice Captain and Captain, M.Horne. The team was coached by ex-student and ex-staff member, Kyle Newton.

Opens players Taylor Haugh, Vice Captain and James Te Pairi placed a respectable 3rd in a very tough section. Unfortunately, Mr Koni played for Counties-Manukau so we will try not to hold that against him as he now prepares the King's 1st Team for their South Island Secondary Touch Tournament in Christchurch from 23rd-24th March 2019.
