Last night I was proud to attended the Otago Polytechnic Pacific Island Recognition Awards and Scholarships with two of King’s Pasifika students.

It was a great evening with a large number of Pasifika community attending to celebrate the success of the local school students achievement in sport, culture, service or academic success. 

King’s student Mahonri Auva’a in Year 10 was awarded a Recognition Award for his hard work and Jayden Maumau gained a Scholarship for a Multi Year Programme. This will help Jayden to follow his dream of becoming an Engineer when he heads to Otago Polytechnic in 2020 after a Gap year.
