Celebrating Samoan Language Week
At the start of the week we were able to raise the Samoan flag in the school quad and Language week was introduced to staff during our Tuesday Morning Briefing.
A group of our Samoan students were also requested to perform at Dunedin North Intermediate (DNI) at their Monday and Friday assemblies. We were also able to make videos explaining where we were from in Samoa and share Samoan quotes as well as easy Samoan conversational words. At the end of the week we presented our “ula fala” to Mr Smith acknowledging his leadership role in the school as well as our appreciation of the significance of the week in being able to wear our Ie’faitaga.
