On Sunday the 9th of August the Otago Secondary Schools Cross Country event was held at Chisholm Park Golf Course.

The course was dry and undulating suiting the strong hill runners and, although it was a nice day, the wind was strong and cold. This was a good trial for the nationals which are being held in Hawera this year. 

Ezekiel Stewart ran a tactical race and moved into 2nd at the 4km mark, after working his way through the field. Ollie Young ran a very strong race, coming 4th, just ahead of George Bates. Hugh Jack (Under 14) ran a very strong race and was only 6 seconds behind the winner. A great debut for the King’s Cross Country team. Overall, a great day out with good team results.
