Library: Sea Week 2024

Debbie Vercoe —

Ko au te moana, ko to moana ko au, I am the sea, the sea is me

We have celebrated Sea Week in the Library with several book displays and a writing competition.

The Head Boy, Ted Menzies, was asked to select the winning entry. Congratulations to 10St's Marlon Scott who impressed Ted with his ideas and expression.

I am the sea

And the sea is me

Caught in the sea’s misty breeze

The wavey water coloured a dark deep blue.

What is the sea? When, where, who?

This big bathtub we use as a bin

It’s 4-4 matchpoint and time to lock in.

Cause in the end the only thing we see

Is I am the sea and the sea is me.

Marlon Scott

Highly commended entries were received from:
