King's students undertake Internationally assessed examination

Jeremy White —

Cambridge Exams for some Year 10 students.

At King’s, when we talk about ‘Cambridge Exams’, we are referring to the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) examination system which is an internationally assessed examination and is generally accepted to have greater breadth than the comparative New Zealand system.

There was not much time between the mock exams and the final exams for the students of 10Wt who are currently sitting their Cambridge Exams. In fact, their first exam was on the first day back this term!

We met up through the past holidays for final tutorials in Maths, English, Global Perspectives and Science to brush up on some of the finer points of each course.

We find that students who take this course are appropriately challenged and develop a strong foundation for their senior years.

Good luck to those boys that completed it.
