Basketball Reps impress at tournament

Nic Sullivan —

Several King’s High School Basketballers played for Otago in U17 and U15 Representative Tournaments over the holidays.

In the first week of the school holidays Angus Cameron, Eric Peita, Lachie Cameron and Rikki Kerr went up to Auckland to compete in the Under 17 National Tournament. The Otago Team had a tough draw in pool play, they ended up 3rd in their pool and went on to finish 12th; a strong tournament had by all four King’s boys.

The second week of the holidays saw Oscar Cameron, Max O’Connor, Bronson Monga, Noah McDowall and Dylan Pledger put on the blue and gold of Otago and head to Tauranga for the Under 15 National Tournament. They had a great tournament coming out of their pool looking strong and had a tough match up in the quarter final against eventual winners Waikato A. They finished strong and were 6th out of 20 and the highest placed South Island team.

All of the boys played hard and helped the team with this great result. After a fantastic tournament Noah McDowall was named in the Tournament Team!
