King’s High School’s Jonty Wispinski returned from the 2017 World iGEO Olympiad in Belgrade, Serbia recently and thoroughly enjoyed his experience.

Jonty was selected for the four student New Zealand team in 2016 and has been preparing for the challenge throughout this year. The team had a three day ‘training camp' in Vienna, Austria on the way to Serbia and met with the Ambassador Nicole Roberton in the New Zealand Embassy. 

The Olympiad itself was a tough challenge with the team finishing outside the medals but Jonty relished mixing with some of the world's best geographers. The Olympiad consisted of three challenges; a written response essay, field work and a multi-media test.
