Last Sunday and Monday the 1st Cricket XI played Waitaki Boys' High School at the DEN as part of our Annual Interschool Exchange.

King's won the toss and were really on the back foot early on and were dismissed for 102.

Waitaki's turn at the crease saw them put on 130 a lead of 28. Reuben Potgieter's figures of 5/58 off 12 overs were a career highlight for King’s.

King's second turn at the bat had them posting 131 with a gritty batting performance from our Captain, Jak Macdonald of 57.

This left Waitaki 104 to win the game and defeat King's for the first time at the DEN in over 20 years. We are sure the players will bounce back in our remaining two Interschools.

It was awesome to have previous players Oram Gutsell and Jimmy Nicol on Day 1 and George Carter along with Scott Greenfield on Day 2 carry out the Umpire Duties. This was appreciated by both Teams.
