Recycling Food Scraps for Compost

Bronwyn Lewis —

Composting is a natural way of recycling that keeps food scraps out of landfill and returns their nutrients to the soil.

Food and Nutrition students have been collecting organic matter like fruit and vegetable peelings, eggshells and coffee grounds to compost.

The goal is to eventually use our own compost to replenish the soil of the Herb Garden recently planted by the Enviro Club on the school grounds.
