Great day for Cricket

Michael Regget —

Last Saturday was a special day for King's Cricket. The day started with a Cap Presentation to Ben Webber and Max Davidson both Year 11 players.

Caps are awarded after 15 appearances for the 1st XI. Mr Scott and Mr Conrad spoke about Ben and Max's journey respectively regarding this achievement.

Head Prefect, George Bates happened to be warming up for an athletics meeting and was running past when he stopped and presented both boys with their Caps. George then gave a blessing to the team in Te Reo Maori which was very special and well received by the team. It was awesome that Ben's Mum, Muriel and Max's Mum and Dad Phillipa and Morgan were present also.

The day only got better for the team who had a comprehensive win by 8 Wickets against the combined CD/Kaikorai Team. Leading from the front was Joe Ingram (Year 12)  who scored his maiden century for the 1st XI. Joe was 102 Not Out off 100 deliveries, again it was awesome that his Dad, Bevan was present to witness Joe's milestone.
