King's Cross Country Team race at the Caledonian

Rocky Allan —

It was a scorching day down at the Caledonian for the 20th Anniversary of the Logan Park Road Race. This year featured a brand new course which started with a lap of the Caledonian and then through the slippery gravel and mud behind the Tennis Courts. The next section was composed of three sharp corners and gruelling, long straights around the Turf then back through to the Track where the Junior Boys had a 100m sprint to the finish line.

It wasn’t over for the Senior Boys though as they were redirected back around the Caledonian to start their second and final lap of the course. At the end of the race, we were treated to a delicious and nutritious flavoured milk, (or plain milk for George Fa’asega) which provided a boost of energy to those competing in the 1.5km relay shortly after.

To Josh Crowley, Gregor Watts, Thomas Weatherall, Cooper Maclean and Leo Young – we hope you enjoyed your debut with the King’s Cross Country Team and we look forward to seeing you all give your best in the coming races.

An honourable mention to Mr Koedyk is also due for his return to help Mr White in keeping us under control. We appreciate your ongoing contributions to the keen King’s runners even after your retirement last year.
