aMetro Secondary Schools Touch (Tue 13th April)

Year 9 & 10 Touch Sports Performance Academy (TAC)

For the past eight weeks, the Year 9 &10 Academies have been learning about all skills in Touch, as part of the curriculum. All of these boys have been applying themselves in their various Metro games on a Tuesday evening. All of the students in the 9 &10 TAC team have been distributed amongst the various Yr 9 &10 Metro teams to develop others.

Based on the results against the various schools over the past 6 weeks, we will be elevating our teams in Term 4 to further challenge and extend the players.

A typical 9 TAC/10 TAC session involves:

1) Warm-up/routine - individual skills/drill

- team skill/drill

- micro skill detail/feedback

2) Focus. - defence detail, drill and application OR

- attack detail, drill and application

3) Modified games - adapted game/restrictions and application

- micro skill detail/feedback/discussion

4) Debrief/reflection - detail/discussion and next steps
