The Otago Museum Photography Awards 2022

Melissa Purnell —

Jack Aubin, Year 11 received highly commended for two of his images

The image of the moth entered in the Youth Wildlife category was taken through the kitchen window at night, the outside light illuminating not only the moth but the pine pollen stuck to the window.

This gave the moth a very astronaut-like quality. One of the judges also commented that it had a "wearable art" feel to it.

The daisy bud image, entered in the Youth Botanical category was also taken with a macro lens. Jack's sister Emily, was the category winner for Youth Wildlife category and won Youth Photographer of the Year for the second year in a row. Keeping it in the family!
