King's 1st XI Football season qualifies them for Nationals

Cam McPhail —

The King's 1st XI Football team notched up another great result on Wednesday with a 4-0 win over the Otago Boys' High School 2nd XI. This win made it ten games unbeaten this season, and 18 in total dating back to September 2022.

It was also a fitting farewell for Quill Orth and Tomas Draque, who leave us in the school holidays to return to the USA and Argentina respectively. Although he couldn't play on Wednesday, we also farewell Anton Schafmayer, who is returning to Germany after a year at King's. All have made an immense contribution to the 1st XI this season. We wish them all the best for their futures and hope to see them again one day back in New Zealand.

With the 1st XI having topped regional qualifying for the Premier National Tournament in Christchurch next term, there is a lot more hard work to be done over the next few weeks.
