"King's Ashes" Trophy
Finn O'Brien and Kyle Burns begin a new King's tradition.
The "King's Ashes Trophy" will be presented to the winners of the annual King's 1st XI vs Rector's 1st XI Cricket Match. It contains the ashes of a bail that was bowled off the wickets that stood behind Kyle Burns (Captain of the 1st XI), by Mr Reddiex in the 2017 King's 1st XI vs Rector's 1st XI match held earlier this year.
In a ceremony after school on Monday, the bail was burned in Mr Reggett's shed (a revered space) and the ashes were sealed within the trophy.
They say that boy's schools are all about tradition, well, this is the beginning of another one!
