It's work...but not as we know it!

There have certainly been some challenges adapting to new ways of teaching and learning online. Muted mics on zoom meetings, crumbs in the keyboard and intrusive felines, to name a few. A few teachers share their experiences, below.

Jeremy White - Science, Chemistry, Physics
I had a catch up with the young men in 10Wt over Zoom through the week, just to check in with the class and to set out the next stage of their learning with an upcoming Human Biology Topic. The boys are coping really well with the steep learning curve (better than their teacher who is having to learn these new tricks!) and are making the most of their opportunities. As you can see, this meeting required a hat to be allowed entry!

The winners of the "Best Hat" competition were Massimo Pezzuto with his Nacho Libre impersonation and Nikhil Rawat who showed that he is, as we already knew, a big bear!

Nick Kyle - Mathematics, Calculus
I have an inventive set up using some objects around the home. An interesting challenge to make my videos to say the least.

Daniel Bleckinger - Earth & Space Science, Science
The Bleckinger Family has been taking advantage of time together. From "Fancy Breakfasts" to walks exploring the local estuary, we have been grateful for our time together.

It has also been a bit of a juggling act looking after two energetic kids, while both of us have been working from home full time. And just when you think you have some quiet time to work, a cat has taken your place!

Kaine Harington - Music Tech & Music teacher
The guest bed has been turned into a bit of an audio booth with an upside-down cot making a great desk. Plenty of gear for making video lessons, listening to students' composition work and recording instruments for those stuck without them. I think the cat wishes this set up was permanent, (see top left).
