This year Fiji Language Week was celebrated from the 9th -15th of October and the theme was “Me vakabulabulataki, vakamareqeti, ka vakaqaqacotaki na vosa vakaviti, which means, Nurture, Preserve and Sustain the Fijian language.” 

There were celebrations in the Fijian community in Dunedin and in school. We were able to raise our Fiji flag in the school Quad and share with both staff and students the many cultures that are represented under the flag of Fiji. 

 At the end of the week we were also able to send well wishes to our Fiji team who played in the quarterfinals in the Rugby World Cup that weekend.
