The week started off with students collecting and preparing their own rākau. 

Then they learnt the basic movements, strikes and blocks and worked up towards team vs team battles called ariki. 

On Thursday students went to the Araiteuru Marae in Kaikorai and joined in the children and adults training there. 

On Friday, their skills were honed and they created a video to share with their whānau.
