A massive effort from King's students for Octacan

James McPherson —

In little over a week King's High School students amassed 1,289 cans for donation to support the Presbyterian Support Otago initiative.

The cans were collected in House Groups from Monday 13th June to Tuesday 21st June. They were then counted and sorted into categories by the Student Council and delivered to the Octagon on Thursday 23rd June. The boys then spent a few hours helping out by sorting other Octacan donations that were being delivered throughout the day.

Mr. Higashitani’s group (WHi) collected the most cans in the school, with massive contributions from two students in particular. Declan Viljoen collected 190 cans, while Juandré Rademeyer brought in 202 cans. A fantastic effort from these two young men.

SJp, TSe, and HHg were the highest contributing groups from Stuart, Tudor, and Hanover Houses.

A great effort from all of our students, and thanks to those that went the extra mile to help those in need.
