One Board Loss

Jesse Farry —

King's Chess A Team came second at the weekend's interschool championships.

King's High School A Team played in the New Zealand Chess Interschools Championships in Oamaru at Waitaki Boys' High School on Saturday 18th June, finishing second.

The King's team were students: Cam Fraser (Year 13), Chay-Hong Rasmey Suos (Year 12), Calan McDermott (Year 13) and Connor Gray (Year 11).

The finish was a very close thing, one more win on one board and we would have been regional winners.

First place went to Logan Park High School, whom we tied with in the head to head.

Chay-Hong and Calan were top for their board positions, second and third respectively.
