Jo Harford —

The pinnacle of sporting achievements at King's for 2019 were celebrated on Thursday night at our annual Sports Awards Evening.

The ultimate prize, Salter Trophy winner went to Gio Leituala for his achievements in Rugby.

Team of the Year went to the 1st XI Hockey Team; winners of the Rankin Cup 2019.

Guest speaker, Glenn Sutton shared his inspirational journey from Pirates Rugby player to Ultra Running competitor.  With humility he described the challenges that he met and overcame competing in events from his first Half Marathon to the "world's toughest footrace"; a 217km non-stop race from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, CA.

Glenn stressed the importance of having good friends, strong support networks and the grit and determination to succeed.

Congratulations to all boys who received awards last night, you should be very proud of your achievements.
