The Science Festival wouldn't be here today were it not for our enthusiastic and generous team of volunteers who lend us their time and talent in the lead up to and during the Science Festival. We need people to help run workshops and events across Ōtepoti Dunedin.

If you want to be a part of our fantastic volunteering team over the Science Festival period, you can apply here!

Once you've completed the application form, our volunteer coordinator will be in touch with you via email about a short 5-10 minute interview over the upcoming weeks. From there, you'll be allocated your day/time/event. This information will be emailed to you in the two weeks leading into the Science Festival.

If you have any questions or queries about how you can be involved with the Science Festival this year, don't hesitate to get in contact!  Flick those questions through to volunteer@scifest.org.nz and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Please note: all volunteers are required to be at least 16 years and over.

2021 NZ International Science Festival Star Volunteers

On top of the amazing events and workshops being run throughout Ōtepoti Dunedin, the 2021 Science Festival is whipping out some new and exciting roles for our volunteers.

This year, we are bringing in our 'Star Volunteers' - a role for you epic volunteers who are wanting to delve into the Science Festival a little bit deeper.

Star Volunteers self-identify as wanting and willing to give a little bit extra over the Science Festival period. This may mean volunteering more hours or helping event managers over the period of a particular event. There are a number of ways that our 'Star Volunteers' can contribute to the Festival!

Post-Festival Volunteering Opportunity:

In addition to the volunteering opportunities running throughout the Science Festival, we will also be continuing the Imagination Playground until the 25th of July. In order to do this, we are going to need more amazing volunteers to ensure this activity can remain fun and creative for our young tamariki.
