Samoan Language Week 2023

Jope Tudreu —

This week King's High School celebrated Samoan Language Week with the theme “Mitamita i lau gagana, maua'a lou fa'asinomaga', which means 'Be proud of your language and grounded in your identity’.

The boys in the school were able to share their experiences as being Pasifika through their food and their cultural performances.

The boys were able to sell Panikeke and Sapasui which are Samoan delicacies, and they were also able to carry out some Pasifika performances for Brockville Full Primary School when they visited the school.

On Wednesday morning they were also able to play “Kilikiti” – this is the Samoan version of Cricket and we were fortunate to carry this out at our Cricket Nets.
