This week International Languages are being celebrated throughout New Zealand.
We started off the week on a high note congratulating six senior students for their achievement in languages in 2021 and they were awarded Excellence Endorsement certificates in the following NCEA courses:
- Johan Lokman - Level 3 Japanese
- Cam Fraser – Level 2 French
- Shelby Thomson – Level 2 French
- Lintong Jiang – Level 1 Chinese
- Massimo Pezzuto – Level 1 French
- Liam Thorne – Level 1 Japanese
The Year 9 languages classes all took part in the Big Languages Week Kahoot, which was held in the PAC on Tuesday and Wednesday. (Photo attached shows the first 3 place-getters in the Wednesday competition.)
Seven Year 9 students studying Japanese went to Otago Girls’ High on Friday night 17th June to compete in the annual Japanese Trivia Quiz. Although there was no trophy for their efforts, all had fun. A fitting conclusion to International Languages Week.
In addition, we enjoyed the Churros van at school providing some yummy treats and conversation with the senior Spanish classes afterwards.
