This week normal classes were cancelled. The usual subjects ran alternative programmes offering unusual options. The timetable gave extended time for the Year 9 classes to problem solve with friends; explore, learn and evaluate ideas and new perspectives.

1. In Science students in teams designed, built, tested and launched a rocket.

2. In Food & Nutrition students created and sampled rice bubble Xmas Trees.

3. In Maths students worked together on modeling an Origami type Columbus Tower creation.

4. In PE students got the chance to showcase their Badminton and Table Tennis prowess.

5. Languages created challenges that included a game called Bu, and interpreting clues to solve a scavenger hunt.

6. The English option turned obsolete books into Xmas trees.

7. Social Studies tested brainpower and recall in Geography, History, Classics, Commerce and General Knowledge quizzes.

9. Performing Arts and Drama students produced their own news bulletin; and in Music three students formed a new band and recorded their first song!
