News from the International Department

Julie Collings —

It's been a busy time for the International Department. This time of year sees the International department saying farewell to some old faces and welcoming some new ones.

Over the holidays we had to say goodbye to six of our European students; Wilhelm, Pascal and Jesse from Germany have been with us for the past year and have returned to their homeland. Max and Quirin also from Germany and Florian from Switzerland departed after a six month stay here in Dunedin. They all fully immersed themselves into King’s life and became assets to the school. The area outside the offices in the International department is now very quiet. We are missing their boisterous conversation and the banter that accompanied it.

We wish them all well with their future adventures.

We have also welcomed five new students into the King’s fold. Jannick and Sascha join us from Germany, New has come from Thailand, Anh from Vietnam and Taigo from Japan. Their lengths of stay range from a 4 week visit to 3-4 years.

We are excited to welcome these students and look forward to sharing what King’s has to offer. The lads have already adapted to the King’s way and are fitting in very well. Thank you to all that have been a part of welcoming these lads and making them feel at home here.

Each student is accommodated in a homestay situation. Most our homestays are King’s families. We are always looking for new homes so if you think you would be interested in hosting an international student please contact me on julie@kingshighschool.nz.
