King's and Queen's performances shine at Youth Jazz Festival

Last Friday/Saturday students from the Jazz Band (Queen B and the Swing Kings) and the Jazz Combo (The Swing Kings) performed at Hanover Hall, for the Dunedin Youth Jazz Festival – a two-day event where jazz bands and combos from high schools all over Dunedin competed in the competition (Friday) and then were able to workshop with professional jazz musicians and jam with fellow jazz-loving students at various venues (Friday night and Saturday).

Results:

Queen B and the Swing Kings (Jazz Band) – Silver Medal and overall winner of the best ‘Swing’ piece
