King's scientists celebrated at Science Fair

Haji Higashitani —

Earlier this week, four King’s boys attended the annual Aurora Science Fair Competition. All were successful, with one student, Liam Hewson, receiving a Premier Award.

Competition was tough this year with over 250 entries from 25 different schools. Liam Hewson in Year 13 (who is currently attending the London International Youth Science Forum), took away three prizes, one being a Premier Award, for his research on Manuka Honey and its Antimicrobial properties. His younger brother Aaron Hewson (Year 11), also won a prize for his project involving Biodiversity.

Callum Steele-MacIntosh in Year 13 received a prize for his entry looking at Gender differences in the Boardroom.

Finally, Ben Hawke (who appeared in last week's King's Week) in Year 9 won a prize for his project on Weather Forecasting.
