Earth and Space Field Trip

Ian Keiller —

The Year 12 Earth and Space Science class spent last Friday visiting a range of geological localities along the coast between Brighton Domain and Tomahawk Beach examining the geology of our Dunedin Volcano and its underlying rocks as well as looking at the development of significant coastal landforms such as wavecut platforms, cliffs, caves and arches.

The students will use the information they collected to help them complete an assessment on the rocks and geological processes found along this stretch of the Otago coastline.
