What tastes better? A school made banana chocolate chip muffin got the tick of approval from a Year 13 Food and Nutrition class.

The Cost of Food

This week the students were surprised at the cost of food and the mark up on ready to eat food and the overhead costs of a business.

They were costing out recipes and calculated the cost (just $0.51 each) to make a banana chocolate chip muffin at school compared with buying a pre-packaged muffin at $4.50.

The students were surprised at the difference the margin made on food and the overheads of a business.
