The King's Boys smashed it at the recent National Surfing Championship in Taranaki, with all our boys through to the Finals
Taking the crown for Best Performance was Lewis Murphy who went all the way to take 3rd place in the National U18s.
Carrying on from his second-place finish in the Māori Nationals last October, Flint Sherborne-France got through to the Semis in the U16s.
Getting to the Quarter finals were Year 9 Kalani Summerton, our U16 surfers Jack Higgins and Keo Morrison.
The King’s team was stoked to get permission from the local iwi to surf at the 'sacred' Stent Road in the finals on a point break and they tore it to pieces. The greenstone coloured long walls were perfect for some epic carves.
(Also, worth mentioning is King’s Old Boy Lyndon Fairbairn, a current NZ Team member for his age group, taking the win in the over 50s Men’s division)
