Four King’s students are taking the NZ BMX scene by storm with impressive skills and placements at the recent South Island Tiles in Alexandra.
Competing alongside 272 other riders, all our lads were successful making the finals in their age group.
Jacob Shaw took away South Island #1 Rider in the 15-24 Male Cruiser class. He also qualified 3rd going into the final for 17-24 Male 20" but unfortunately, he had a nasty crash in the first straight, but he managed to get back up and placed SI6. Lots of skin off and a few injured riders in that final; no-one went to hospital, so that's a bonus. Riding skills run in the family, as Jacob’s younger brother Ben Shaw also made finals coming SI5 on 20" in another challenging, tight final.

All four King’s lads competed in the Oceania Championships in New Plymouth last weekend (results tbc) and then the Nationals in March.
