NZQA Scholarship Success

Cameron McPhailFebruary 13, 2025

King’s is thrilled to announce our 2024 NZQA Scholarship exam results. A Scholarship exam pass is the highest academic award that a student can attain in the New Zealand secondary school system. In the 2024 Scholarship exams, 25 King's students attained a total of 50 Scholarship passes across 16 different subject areas. Attaining a Scholarship pass puts these King’s students in the top 3% in New Zealand in their subject area(s).

Three of the 50 Scholarship passes were awarded at Outstanding level. An Outstanding Scholarship pass equates to being in the top 0.3% of students nationwide in a subject.

Significantly, of the 25 Scholarship winners, seven were Year 12 students who amassed a total of 17 Scholarships between them, and four were Year 11 students, each attaining a single Scholarship.

These results place King’s in the top tier of South Island Secondary Schools and New Zealand Boys’ Schools overall in NZQA Scholarship.

We would like to thank all the people who supported our Scholarship candidates, especially their parents/caregivers and all the teachers who have contributed to their success.
