Congratulations to the King's High School 1st XI Hockey Team on its 2-0 win over John McGlashan College 1st XI on Tuesday night before a large and boisterous crowd at the Alexander McMillan Turf.

In breaking news...The Otago Maths Competition was held last night and the King's team of George Bates, Riley Curran, William Scharpf and Asher Quin walked away with the trophy ahead of 26 schools from around Otago. Congratulations boys!

On Tuesday eight boys; Chanse Peita, Finn Ward, Dallas Hartmann, Gio Leituala, Jack Muir, Shaquille Berwick, Jed Collings and Ben Freeman had the privilege of attending an intimate talk by Steven Adams and Ma’a Nonu at St Margaret’s Hall of Residence.

If 9Ha could spread their style of debate with the United Nations in NYC the world would be a happier, if not slightly more chaotic, place to live in.

The library has been device free on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a year now.

King's Prefects had a convincing 16-8 win over St Hilda's Prefects at the annual fixture held on the 15th August.

Year 9 students have been learning about anatomy and the digestive system. Luca Bleckinger (shown) is taking a special interest in what the rat may have eaten as he looks for evidence in the stomach. Later this term, students may also have the chance to dissect flowers and beans!

We are holding an event on Friday the 31st of August at lunch time to raise money for the Cancer Society where a number of boys will be shaving their heads.

Auditions are now open for the NZ Secondary Students' Choir, our prestigious National Choir for 14-18 year olds. They take place just once every two years. Membership of the Choir brings with it a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from our best vocal coaches and consultants, bond with other talented young singers from across the country, and perform both nationally and internationally.
