Last Friday, four King’s students competed in Ngā Manu Kōrero speech competition for the Otago/Southland region. Students were entered in both the Māori and English sections, and the senior students were also required to deliver a three minute impromptu speech.

Beckham Wheeler-Greenall receives the ‘49ers Cup’ from Sir John Hansen. The cup is awarded to the First XI which provided the most meritorious performance against the prestigious Willows Cricket Club from North Canterbury.

Last week, Year 13 Biology students travelled to the Orokonui Ecosanctuary and spent three intensive days working on an internal assessment. They were taught by three Masters students from the University of Otago who are studying Botany and Ecology.

The two Year 11 Geography classes spent last Friday at Macraes Gold Mine as part of their internal assessment on Sustainability.

The Year 11 Drama class performed "Nui Sila" on Friday for an internal assessment. Always popular, the comedy play is written by two of New Zealand's most prolific actors and playwrights; Oscar Knightly and Dave Armstrong.

Introducing Mrs Muir and Miss Brash who are the new canteen team. They are still finding their feet, however, as you can see below their priority is to gradually introduce a few more choices to the menu.
