As your Interim Rector, it gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome back for Term 2.

Dominic Fortes (Yr 11) was selected in the New Zealand International Squad to compete in the Australian Age Group Championships, held in Perth during the Easter holidays.

Corey (Year 13) had a very busy school holidays with Fencing. He started off with the New Zealand University Fencing Championships – which courtesy of King’s doing the Mathematics paper through Canterbury University, he qualified for. He had a great tournament, and now holds the New Zealand University Cup for Men’s Foil, and the New Zealand University Cup for Men’s Sabre!

The for the first time, King’s High sent Lion’s Water Polo Team to Rotorua for the Div. 2 Secondary Schools Nationals. King’s were the only South Island team competing so all of the teams were a bit of an unknown to us.

Congratulations to the King’s Beta Team who took out first place in the Senior Division 1 Futsal Competition at the end of last term.

Samuel Blackwood, Chairman of the School Council, outlines the role of our council and an important event coming up this term.

During mid-June, King's High School will be supporting the Presbyterian Support Otago's Octacan Can Collection.

If so, there is an amazing opportunity available to you. The Science Fair is on once again this year. It is an excellent way to take the skills you have learned in class, and apply them to a project that interests you.
