He Pouwhenua, He Puapua: National Secondary Schools' Kapa Haka Competition

At the end of Term 3, He Waka Kōtuia, King’s and Queen’s Kapa Haka Group, flew to Palmerston North to compete in the National Secondary Schools Kapa Haka Competition.

Spanish Culture and Food Celebrated

Last term was a busy one for the Spanish classes, beginning with Cinco de Mayo Celebrations and finishing with a visit from the Churros Cart. As usual, good food and plenty of opportunities to practice speaking Spanish were had by all.

Year 13 Biology

Year 13 Biology had a trip to the Physiology Department at the end of last term. This tied in with the Homeostasis topic they were working on. They were looking at their oxygen and carbon dioxide levels when they exercised.

The annual Otago Science Teachers' Association Year 10 Science Quiz was hosted by Kavanagh College. The King's Team of Samuel Blackwood, Ollie Young and Freddie Allen came a creditable 4th in a very close and competitive event. Congratulations to OGHS for winning and retaining their trophy.
