I want to commend all the boys involved in the Interschool last week for their sporting spirit. I also want to applaud the tenacity they showed while in the heat of each match and congratulate the seven winning teams.
Boys in winning teams were congratulated by the school in the Assemblies on Monday. They were those who competed in:
Junior Hockey
Junior Debating
Junior Year 9 Basketball
First XI Football
Cross Country
Golf
First XV Rugby
While OBHS edged ahead of us to narrowly win 9-7 overall, with two draws, our boys acquitted themselves very well and we now look forward to the 2025 rematches.
There are teams now on track for a strong Tournament Week later this term, at the South Island or National level. Our best wishes are with them as they prepare.
Open Night was last night.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to assist and to all of you who came as guests and encouraged others to join us. The school was abuzz and we were delighted with the strong turnout, energetic enjoyment of the school, and rich conversations about young men and their futures that were had.
King’s was showcased superbly. I could not have been prouder of our people last night.
Kind regards,
Ngā mihi nui,
Nick McIvor
