Alex Kuch receives the AIMES Service to the Community Award

KingsWay School —

Alex Kuch, an outstanding young man and former student of KingsWay School, has received the North Harbour Club AIMES Service to the Community Award.

The North Harbour Club, a non for profit organisation, was established in 1995 to assist the youth of the North Harbour region to achieve excellence in the Arts, Innovation, Music, Education, Sports and Service to the Community http://www.northharbourclub.co.nz.

The North Harbour club have given over $2 million to very talented young men and women, assisting them in their pursuit of excellence. Many of them have gone on to perform with distinction on the world stage, including - Lorde, Lydia Ko, Eliza McCartney, Ben Sanders, Sian Simpson, Moses Mackay, Tom Ashley and Dr Lewis Fry.

Alex is very grateful to KingsWay School for the support and guidance provided to him during his school years. Alex is pictured above with KingsWay School's Executive Principal, Graeme Budler, at the Senior School assembly. Alex encouraged the staff and students of the school to believe in who they are and to have courage to do what they can to make this world a better place. He was accompanied by Phil Brosnan, President of North Harbour Club and Charitable Trust (pictured below).

Alex was a KingsWay School Graduate in 2013, after which he completed a BA with majors in Politics and International Law.

Alex's achievements include:

  • Advocacy in Children’s’ rights and international adoptions
  • Selected to attend the Global Change Matters Forum in Switzerland
  • Received an award for his work with orphan advocacy from the President of Romania
  • Young New Zealander of the year semi-finalist
  • Recently completed an internship with Children’s rights organisation in the Netherlands
  • Recently attended a international governmental forum in Brussels which was attended by 51 Heads of State
  • Next week he is flying to Malaysia to do a TED talk and to speak at one of the largest law schools in Malaysia: CLICK HERE for the Facebook link
