Full School Notices - Thursday, 6 April
Dear KingsWay Community
Kia ora koutou katoa.
This week KingsWay hosted several Easter celebrations at KingsWay School. These were remarkable as we have not hosted an Easter assembly for a few years because of Covid. These celebrations reflected what we believe in as believers and our school's special Christian character. I never want to take it for granted the unique opportunity and privilege we have to publicly celebrate our faith and share the gospel with our students.
I hope that you take the time to enjoy this term's KingsWay Connect magazine. It highlights and celebrates some of the activities that we engage in and informs the community where we want to go next.
Last year I was granted a Ministry of Education sabbatical in Term 2 after 20 years of continuous service at KingsWay School. The arrangement for my cover is as follows:
- Lisa Lambert (Associate Principal) will deputise as Executive Principal for the first five weeks of the term and the April holidays.
- Chris Martin (Associate Principal) will do the second five weeks of term and the June holidays.
I trust and know that during my absence you will offer the same level of support to these Acting Principals that you afford me.
Please may I make one last plug for the PTA fundraiser? I request that you prayerfully consider contributing to this worthy cause. You can do this by bidding on an item or donating. You can find all the information on the KingsWay website (or below).
Thank you for your ongoing and faithful parent partnership this term. I wish you all a blessed Easter and encourage you to continue reinforcing the redemptive message with your children during the break.
Ngā mihi,
Graeme Büdler
Executive Principal

KAMAR Parent Portal Security Update
KAMAR (the digital platform used as KingsWay’s parent portal) are releasing an update to the Web Portal over the holidays that contains security improvements.
The main change that parents and caregivers need to be aware of is that this update will force caregivers to update their passwords. The caregiver will be forced to update their password when they first log onto the Web Portal after KAMAR complete the upgrade. On first logon, parents/caregivers will be taken to the "Change Password" screen and be forced to change the password to one of their own choosing (in accordance with the new password complexity rules). The new password complexity rules are:
- Passwords must be at least eight characters long.
- They cannot contain personal details (e.g., first or last name, date of birth, etc).
- Caregiver
passwords that are less than 16 characters must meet three of these four
requirements:
- Must contain a number.
- Must contain an upper-case letter.
- Must contain a lower-case letter.
- Must contain a symbol.
Please note that the School has no control over the update and is does not have passwords for users. Please ensure you follow the prompts as you logon for the first time.
Security continues to be a very important focus for both the Ministry of Education and KAMAR Limited, as well as KingsWay School. We want to ensure that you and your child’s data is protected.

The Lion King Jr.
KingsWay Middle School is excited to be presenting The Lion King Jr in Term 3.
The cast has been working hard to bring this show to life and staff have been impressed by the passion and commitment our students have demonstrated during both the audition and rehearsal process. It has been a joy to watch the students grow and develop the gifts that God has blessed them with, and we are expectant of an amazing week of shows in early August.
Tickets for The Lion King Jr will be available for purchase around mid-Term 2. It will be a thrilling journey to the Pride Lands, where we will explore a classic story of love, perseverance, growing up, and hope. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We can’t wait to see you there!

Enrolments in 2024
KingsWay School families are encouraged to make applications well in advance of the entry point for their child.
If siblings have not been enrolled officially, places could fill. Please ensure you go through the same application process for all your children.
Homestay Families Needed
KingsWay School is looking to increase our accommodation options for International students. We are wanting to find outgoing, active, loving, families who would be excited to host an international student in their home. Preferably families with school aged children.
- Homestay families need to be fluent English speakers.
- A homestay caregiver needs to provide all meals, compassionate care and concern for the student.
- They will be responsible for an international student 24/7 when they are not attending school.
- Not all international students come from Christian homes so potentially this is an evangelistic opportunity.
- An international student needs to have their own bedroom equipped with bed, linen, wardrobe and/or drawers, desk, lamp etc.
- Homestay families are remunerated with learning about another culture, showing the love of Jesus and being paid $320 per week.
