Scheduled Teacher Only Day for Kauri Studio Only

Year 0-2 Athletics Day - change of date

The Athletics Day will no longer be held at the Junior Campus in week 4 of this term. This is due to the relocation of the Kauri Studio furniture also happening on that day. The day will now be combined with the Year 3-6 Athletics Day in Week 6 of this term, on Wednesday, 21 November at Metro Park Millwater.

More information as well as the permission form will be sent out via email, in due course. The children will be looking forward to sharing their learning in Athletics from PE this term.

Bike Safety

This is an important notice to parents who have children travelling to school by bike. Please ensure your children are instructed on bike road safety. It is imperative that children look both ways carefully before crossing a road. We recently had a near miss incident so want to ensure children arrive at school safely.

Activity Costs - past due date for domestic students

A reminder that the Primary Activity Costs for domestic students are now past the due date. Please ensure payment is made as soon as possible. This notice is for domestic students only and does not apply to International Students.

Library

Due to our upcoming renovations in the studios, the Library is moving to a new location in the school foyer. We have an exciting design concept which we are looking forward to unveiling at the start of 2019.

In preparation for this, we are carrying out a book audit next term. Every book is going to be counted and checked. This book audit will be happening throughout Term 4. Please have a big hunt during the holidays for any school library books and return them to us in Week 1 of next term. At times children take books home without them being issued and we would love them back!

Kauri Studio: NO NEW BORROWING will take place in TERM 4. Due to studio renovations we need to pack and move the entire library. Please use your local library if you wish to get any extra books for your child to read.

Totara Studio: Borrowing will finish in Week 4, Term 4.

Health and Safety Policy - school hours

Due to Health and Safety policy, children are not to be on school grounds before 8.30am or after 3.30pm, unless participating in the SKids programme. Children still on campus outside of school hours will be placed into the Skids programme at parent’s expense. Primary School Summer Uniform for Term 4

Please note, it is compulsory for all Junior Campus students to wear KingsWay School hats or KingsWay school caps in Term 4. 

School sandals (rather than school socks and shoes) are recommended but not compulsory. 

Second Hand Polar Fleeces - for sale in foyer

Unclaimed polar fleeces from lost property are now for sale in the Junior Campus foyer. Please make a $5 donation per item (cash required).

Kauri Studio is on the Move – Boxes Needed

In Week 5 of Term 4, the Kauri studio students are relocating to the Senior Campus. We need boxes to pack resources into for the move. Banana and Apple boxes are great as they have strong lids and don’t crush easily, or if you have moved recently and have standard sized boxes would also be appreciated. 

Please stack your donated boxes on the left hand side of the hall. Your help is appreciated.

Year 5 and 6 Cricket Zone Day

If your child (boy or girl) is interested in playing for KingsWay in the upcoming HBC Cricket Zone Day, please register their interest by emailing Raelene.Beguely@kingsway.school.nz by Tuesday 30 October.

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you to all families who picked up a Christmas Child Box last term. Please return filled boxes containing all items recommended in the flyer and your $9 shipping donation to the Junior Campus Reception. Boxes are now being collected for a limited time only.

Orewa Christmas Parade

This year, KingsWay Junior Campus will not be entering a float into the Orewa Christmas Parade. Feel free to let your children join in with another float or go to watch the parade as a family this year.

Hopefully, we will be able to enter again next year with a refreshed design. If you would like to be part of the planning and design team for future years, please email Raelene.Beguely@kingsway.school.nz to register your interest. 

KUMON Silverdale Education Centre

Kumon Silverdale Education Center now operates from the Conference Room at KingsWay School Senior Campus, 100 Jelas Rd Red Beach. 

The centre will open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:30 to 5:45pm.

Do you have a Year 4, 5 or 6 boy or girl that would like to try out the NEW cricket which is MORE FUN, has MORE ACTION and best of all, TAKE LESS TIME?

We are looking for at least 4 more players to fill a team that plays Saturday mornings and the games last less than 2 ½ hours…
