KingsWay School —

Week 3, Term 3

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,

Scout Scarf Day was celebrated earlier this week on August 1st. All scouts were encouraged to step out of their homes proudly wearing their scarves. We were thrilled to observe our Year 4 students proudly wearing their scarves.

When asked why they loved being scouts, each of them responded as follows:

Georgie: “I love the outings, especially when we go to Kelly Tarlton's and have a sleep over with sharks!”

Annalise: “Boating is my favourite! We get to learn sailing, go kayaking, and even try boogie boarding."

Caleb: “Camps and doing lots of fun activities. I’ve learnt all about different parts of a sailboat.”

Elizabeth: “I love collecting badges for achieving specific goals and the camps are great!”

Emil: “Doing creative things like building a car from pine wood for racing.

This week we had the pleasure of having the NED Show present to the children about having a growth Mindset. NED taught us valuable lessons such as:

N - Never give up

E - Encourage others

D - Do your best

We learned about the power of the word ‘yet’ to help us grow and develop a growth mindset. The show was a beautiful reminder that God has made us each for a unique purpose and we are treasured by Him.
