Year 7 School Based Immunisation Programme for 2020

KingsWay School —

As part of the Waitemata District Health Board’s school based immunisation programme, all students in Year 7 will be offered the BOOSTRIX immunisation (booster vaccinations for tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough).

Parents and caregivers are welcomed and encouraged to attend a teaching session, to be held for the students, on Thursday 20 February at 10.15am, in the Wharenui room.

This session will be presented by a WDHB public health nurse and will include a short video and a time for questions.

The below link will take you to the video that will be shown to the students: https://www.health.govt.nz/your-health/healthy-living/immunisation/immunisation-older-children

If you do not wish your child to attend this educational session please notify your child’s form teacher.

Every Year 7 student will be given a form to take home which needs to be completed and signed by a parent or caregiver and returned to school whether you are consenting or non-consenting to the immunisation.

Below are links that may assist you in your decision process. It may also be helpful speaking with your child’s Doctor or practise nurse.
