Come and help plant some trees on Saturday 3rd July!

KingsWay School —

We would like to encourage our KingsWay Community to take part in our Community-led Tree Planting Day on Saturday, 3rd July.

In our previous newsletter, we mentioned that the school has been given a grant to plant 1920 trees at the Junior Campus. We are planning to plant these trees on Saturday, 3rd July. We would love our KingsWay families to come along, plant a tree and be a part of history in the making!

Our tree planting will start at 10am at the Junior Campus field. Instructions on how to plant will be given on the hour starting from 10am until 2pm.

It is important for us to know how many people will be at each hourly planting slot. Please fill in THIS FORM to let us know when you will attend?

We encourage all helpers to:

  • wear clothing that can get dirty
  • wear closed shoes
  • bring a rain jacket for wet weather
  • bring a gardening spade (extra spades will be provided for those who don't have)
  • NOTE: We welcome all ages to participate, but do ask that all young children are supervised by their parents. The young trees will be fragile, the slope has a steep gradient and there will be various hazards such as sharp spades and gardening equipment.

There will be a sausage sizzle and refreshments to reward all our families who come along and join in! Let's make this a day to remember and create a native forest for our community and the generations to come.
