Moving to Alert Level 4

KingsWay School —

17 August 2021 -7 pm

Dear KingsWay Community,

Sadly, with the recent report of an active community case in Auckland, we find ourselves back at Alert Level 4. Please familiarize yourself with the school’s protocols for Alert Level 4 by visiting the KingsWay School website.

At Alert Level 4 students do not attend school. Unfortunately, we have had to postpone the Senior School’s Aladdin Jnr production and other planned calendar events until further notice. We aim to use our best endeavours to reschedule when permitted by the authorities. I will resume posting daily correspondence and updates at 6 pm on the KingsWay website and Facebook page.

Our protocols when moving into lockdown involve a TOD to allow staff and families to transition effectively. Therefore, there is no school scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, 18 August 2021. Classes resume on Thursday 19 August 2021 using Zoom for Middle School and Teams for Senior School. I will include reminders from Heads of School at 6 pm tomorrow related to learning procedures. Primary students can start using their learning packs tomorrow, but teachers are unavailable until Thursday, 18 August. In the case of an urgent update, I will continue to use the KingsWay App. Would you mind downloading this app if you have not done so already?

I am aware that this unwelcome news may invoke feelings of anger, anxiety and confusion. I pray that the KingsWay community continues to demonstrate the love and support shown in the past. Our pastoral care team are available to support students at high risk. Please get in touch with cherie.wallace@kingsway.school.nz to arrange an appointment.

God bless,

Graeme Budler
Executive Principal
