Turftech are looking for a suitably experienced person to take full responsibility for the management of the school’s green spaces. In this position you will be permanently based at KingsWay School’s Senior and Junior Campuses. As Head Groundsperson, it will be your responsibility to maintain the school grounds to the highest standard. KingsWay is an integrated special character Christian school, and you will be expected to uphold this special character. The salary will reflect experience and/or qualifications.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the sports fields, artificial turf, hard surfaces, lawns and gardens. Turftech’s proven, easy to follow school maintenance system will give you the confidence and ability to settle into this role with ease. You will have a good working relationship with other grounds managers within Turftech, giving you all the assistance you might need in implementing “Turftech’s way”. As well as having the support of our friendly team, you will be working with a brand-new modern fleet of equipment, serviced by our in-house mechanical expertise. 

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Maintaining the gardens/hedges, lawns and pathways
  
• Sports field maintenance, including mowing, fertility, and pest and disease control
  
• Irrigation system management and maintenance
  
• Presenting the live turf and artificial sports surfaces to a high level for sporting fixtures
  
• Sports field line marking
  
• Co-ordinating seasonal renovations of the sports fields with Turftech’s renovation team
  
• Working closely with the school to ensure all grounds maintenance duties do not have a negative impact on school operations
  
• Reporting on a regular basis to both the school’s and Turftech’s management teams
  
• Working within a set budget determined by the management teams concerned
  

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

• A great attitude and work ethic
  
• Suitable experience in managing green spaces
  
• A Growsafe certificate, or the ability and desire to add this qualification to your skill set
  
• Operational skills for mechanised plant utilised in green space management
  
• Good written and verbal communication skills
  
• The ability to manage and be responsible for a budget
  
• Initiative and drive to do the best for the customer
