Christ-centred Wellbeing Framework
KingsWay Board of Trustees
During 2021 KingsWay developed a research-based, Christ-centred wellbeing framework. This framework guides everything we do to grow student wellbeing and help them live purpose-driven lives at school.
Like all things at KingsWay School the best outcomes always occur when the school and parents work in partnership. We understand the deep desire within your hearts to raise children who are happy and healthy, grounded in their faith, and living with purpose. When we only focus on this from home or school, we only get part of the potential that can be achieved.
At the heart of nurturing wellbeing and fostering purpose-driven lives is the power of faith. As Christian parents, we have the privilege of instilling in our children a deep understanding of God's love and His unique plan for their lives. By integrating faith into their daily lives, we can guide them on a transformative journey towards having a strong identity in God.
Encourage Prayer and Reflection:
Teach your children the importance of prayer as a means of communing with God. Encourage them to set aside time each day for personal reflection, allowing them to seek God's guidance, express gratitude, and discern His calling in their lives.
Embrace Scripture:
Help your children develop a love for God's Word by reading and studying the Bible together. Share stories of faith and the testimonies of men and women who have lived purposeful lives for God. By immersing themselves in Scripture, they will discover the timeless wisdom and promises that shape their understanding of purpose.
Foster a Heart of Compassion:
Teach your children to have hearts that are sensitive to the needs of others. Encourage acts of kindness, generosity, and service. Help them see that living a purpose-driven life involves loving others, caring for the marginalized, and positively impacting their communities.
Empower Their Gifts and Talents:
Every child possesses unique gifts and talents bestowed by God. Encourage your children to explore and develop these abilities. Provide opportunities for them to discover their passions and interests, allowing them to discern how their talents can be used to serve God and others.
Cultivate a Culture of Encouragement:
Create a nurturing environment where your children feel supported and encouraged to pursue their dreams and passions. Celebrate their achievements, no matter how big or small, and remind them of their inherent worth and value in God's eyes.
It is vital for us as parents to set an example by putting our phones down and prioritizing quality time with our children. By intentionally disconnecting from digital distractions, we create opportunities for meaningful connections and deeper conversations.
"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." - Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
This verse reminds us that we are God's masterpiece, created with a purpose in Christ Jesus. It emphasizes that we have been uniquely designed by God to carry out good works that He has prepared for us in advance. As parents, we need to help our children recognize and fulfil their God-given purpose by nurturing their faith, character, and service to others.
